How Our Office Serves You
The Tax Assessor is required to annually locate, list, and place a value on all real and personal property within Monroe County. Ownership maps are also required to be maintained yearly. These are as of January 1 with ownership based on all legal filings in the county. Tax rolls are presented to the Board of Supervisors for public hearings and approval. The Tax Assessor also helps homeowners file for homestead exemption.
